Keys School incorporates the use of technology within our curriculum for Grades K through 8, in order to cultivate good digital citizens in our students. Kindergarten students start the year learning what the idea of technology really means, and as the year progresses they utilize technology in relation to various projects within their curriculum. Mayrin Bunyagidj, our Lower School Technology Integrationist, gave our kindergarten students a period of exploration with a drawing app on the iPad, and then showed students how to focus their skills with this technology to draw their self-portraits. Students learn valuable lessons in taking risks, by trying out new tools and features of the iPad, and problem-solving when the technology sometimes doesn’t work the way they would want it to.
