Solar Eclipse

Keys School Community Witnesses Historic Solar Eclipse

Though Tuesday, August 22 was the first official day of classes at Keys, Monday’s optional ‘Welcome Day’ provided an opportunity for new and returning students and families to tour the Lower and Middle School campuses and meet classmates, advisors, and homeroom teachers.

Coincidentally, the event also provided a rare learning opportunity, as members of the Keys community collectively witnessed the spectacular and rare total solar eclipse. Keys faculty and staff was on-hand to help students and parents experiment with eclipse glasses, shadow art, and homemade eclipse viewers. The energy and excitement from this monumental celestial event will no doubt carry into the start of the new school year.
