First Day of School

First Day of School at Keys Marks 45 Years

Yesterday marked the first day of the 2017-2018 school year at Keys, and the 45th year since its inception in 1973. Students eagerly arrived well before the sound of the morning bell to reconnect with their friends and discover newly redesigned classrooms and community spaces on the Lower and Middle School campuses.

At Lower School, Kindergarteners explored the recently refreshed Kindergarten Play Yard, an energetic space of exploration, creativity, and outdoor learning. Students also visited the enhanced Maker Space, where new tools and technologies were waiting to be put to work.

During the Opening Assembly at Middle School, Head of Middle School Larry Purcell challenged students to ponder the Keys School mission and remember to “give ourselves, and each other, the time and space to grow and learn throughout the year.”
