Design Thinking Process on Display at Middle School

At the 2017 Keys Design Expo, a design thinking showcase for innovative student projects and research, a range of interdisciplinary work from grades five through eight was on display.

Parents and faculty toured the expo and chatted with students about their design processes. Projects ranged from virtual reality tours of solar houses designed by seventh grade scientists, to fifth grade digital short stories based on research into the American Revolution. Some students also competed in a hands-on Maker Challenge, in which small groups built and tested a marble launching device with limited materials in a race against the clock.
