Our second grade students had a surprise virtual visit from California based artist Michael Kershnar. Michael, who is working on a large mural at the home of one of our second grade families, zoomed in to share an in depth look at the how and why behind the mural he is creating. Michael is a lifelong artist and skateboarder with a deep interest in the natural world and global spirituality. A couple of students, in this family’s bubble, were able to visit to add in their own meaningful messages to be woven into the mural. Second grade students were in awe of Michael’s bold use of color and line in his mural. We can’t wait to see how this inspires our second graders as they progress in art class!
